Burnout prevention

The window where this is cheap to fix is open right now.

Almost nobody arrives at burnout without having seen it approaching for months. The signs are legible. What is missing is a reason to act on them while you are still, technically, fine.

This page is that reason. Intervening now costs you twelve weeks. Intervening after costs you a year and somebody else's confidence in you.

Most advice on how to avoid burnout is about habits. This is not that. Habits work on your reserves. What decides whether you tip is the threshold underneath them, and habits do not reach it.

Why prevention is a hard sell to yourself

Feeling normal under dysregulation is the whole trap.

The nervous system normalises. Whatever state it holds for long enough stops registering as a state and starts registering as you. This is the single most important thing to understand about your own situation, and it is why prevention feels unnecessary right up until it is too late to be prevention.

So the question to ask is not whether you feel bad. You will say no, and you will be sincere. The question is what it currently costs you to produce the version of yourself that shows up to work. If the answer is more than it used to, the threshold is already moving.

The honest arithmetic

Now versus later

From
To
Twelve weeks of sessions alongside a full workload, with nobody needing to know
Months of absence, a handover, cover costs, and a return that may not hold
A capability you keep, because you addressed it while you still had reserves
A recovery done from empty, which is slower and less complete
Your own decision, on your own timetable
A decision made for you, by a body that stopped negotiating

Signals worth taking seriously

Not exhaustion. The things before it.

By the time exhaustion arrives you are late. These come first.

Recovery has slowed

It takes longer to come back from a hard week than it used to, and the difference is now measurable in days.

The evening has gone

You are still good at work and there is nothing left afterwards. The competence is being funded from somewhere.

Cynicism where there was interest

A flatness toward work you used to care about. It is usually read as disillusionment. It is more often depletion.

Smaller irritations, larger reactions

The gap between the size of a trigger and the size of your response has widened, and you notice it afterwards.

Sleep that does not restore

Hours are fine, mornings are not. This one is close to diagnostic.

You have started managing yourself

Planning your energy like a budget, protecting yourself from ordinary demands. That is a system already running a deficit.

People who moved early

In their words

“My experience with Ola has been very positive. From the first session, she allowed me to free myself from a blockage that prevented me from fully realizing my potential. A huge thank you to her for this release!”

Sandrine Jury · HR Director & Coach

“I met Ola through a friend who had recommended her Reset© method. It seemed too good to be true, but Ola genuinely helped me — through her warmth and her clarity of analysis — to move past limiting emotional reactions, quickly. I recommend her wholeheartedly.”

“Ola allowed me to effortlessly resolve a persistent professional challenge about a particular relational subject. Her coaching has served me both professionally and personally. Her method works and I can't recommend Reset© enough.”
