About

I did not choose this work from a brochure.

I arrived at it the way most of my clients arrive at me — by running out of road.

Portrait of Ola Serhan

2017

I went through burnout. Not the version you can work around, the version that takes the floor out.

In a session with a psychologist there was a moment where something surfaced that I had not connected to anything: a survival anxiety that traced directly back to growing up in war in Beirut. He used a method drawn from EMDR. In under an hour, a behaviour I had carried my entire life let go.

I want to be careful about how I say this, because it sounds like an advertisement and it was not. It was disorienting. I had spent years being intelligent about myself and it had not moved a thing, and then something moved in fifty minutes without my permission and without my effort.

I trained immediately.

What came after

Reset is what happened when I adapted it for the room I was actually in.

The clinical version of that method belongs in clinical hands. What I kept was the essence — fast, targeted neuro-emotional regulation — and built it for coaching: for self-growth, for emotional and mindset blockages, for capable people who are not ill and are not fine.

That is Reset Coaching©. Nine years of it now. Several hundred people. Private clients, professionals under pressure, leaders, top performers, people in and around burnout. And a mandate from a Swiss public institution, working with people recovering from burnout or long-term illness so they can return to work.

A number of my students started as clients. They felt what the method did, and wanted to learn to do it.

Geneva

Easy to get by in. Very hard to belong to.

I did not come to Geneva by choice, and it took me a long time to stop holding that against the city.

It is a place with an unusual social physics. People arrive with strong profiles, good jobs, a safe city — everything on paper — and then discover that the social start-over is brutal. The Swiss are private, hard-working mountaineers, and the language barrier sets into something like an emotional glacier. The two populations behave like oil and water.

I understand the expat experience here because I have lived the inside of it. It is one of the reasons my work is bilingual and always will be.

How I work

Warmth first, and then precision.

New clients are almost always nervous. They are about to be seen, in an unfamiliar process, without the usual armour. So I do not open a first session by walking into the most triggering thing in someone's life. I start by making the room safe enough that a nervous system is willing to let go in it.

After that I am quite precise. I hold the track — following the natural curve of where you go, and bringing it back to what we came here to do. That combination is the job. Without trust, nothing reprocesses. Without direction, nothing resolves.

My line to new clients. It does not matter how I know this will work for you. What matters is that you will know it has worked for you. Come with curiosity, and you will walk out with certainty.

In their words

People who worked with me

“My difficult past with my father cast a shadow over most of my life. I was constantly confrontational, or defensive. From the first session, I found a sort of confidence I didn't know I had. Today, I'm more open in my relationships and I believe that life can be good to me.”

Manu Ressurreicao · Electrician

“Meeting new people used to make me panic and lose my composure. After just one session, I was finally able to meet new people without any pressure, and now feel that what I share comes easily and from the bottom of my heart. Thank you, Ola!”

Arnaud · Therapist

“Ola allowed me to effortlessly resolve a persistent professional challenge about a particular relational subject. Her coaching has served me both professionally and personally. Her method works and I can't recommend Reset© enough.”

Christophe Margaine · Director

Outside the practice

The rest of it

I am a solo parent. I am a Vajrayana practitioner, which is not a decorative detail — it is the discipline that keeps me honest about the difference between relief and change.

I work in English and French. Sessions run online across Europe and about four time zones either side, and in person in Geneva.
