The method
How Reset actually works
Reset Coaching© is coaching powered by a fast, highly targeted neuro-emotional regulation. It removes the nervous and emotional load that keeps a situation feeling critical — so clarity, composure and resourcefulness come back.
This page is the whole method, without mystification. If something here does not make sense, that is worth saying out loud on a call.
The premise
Ola does not fix the problem. She changes how you carry it.
Clients are the best qualified people to solve their own situations. That is not a compliment, it is an operating assumption. Nobody knows the terrain of your life better than you do, and nobody is going to hand you a better decision than the one you will make yourself once you can think straight.
What Reset changes is the condition you are thinking from. When the nervous system settles and the emotional charge dissolves, clarity, composure and creativity come back online — and people naturally take better actions. Not because they were instructed to. Because there is finally room to.
The difference, in her own words
The instrument is different, not just gentler.
Almost every approach you have met runs on action and reaction: apply the tool, hold the practice, correct the thinking, and improvement follows if you comply. That logic is sound for learning a skill and inverted for nervous overload, because the compliance itself is more load.
Ola states her position without softening it. When somebody is seeking relief — mental, nervous, emotional — pushing harder is nonsensical. Solace is found through sustained effortlessness.
Everything on this page follows from that sentence, including the fact that there is no homework.
The work is done for you during the session. The change happens on the spot. Just show up and experience it.Ola Serhan
The three layers
Experience has three expressions. Reset works on one of them.
Change one and the other two reorganise around it. Most approaches enter through the mental layer, which is the hardest door in the building.
Emotional and nervous state
How you feel. This is where Reset works, and it is the only one of the three that does not require your cooperation to change.
Mental attitude
How you think. Reachable by argument in theory. In practice, arguing with a dysregulated system has a poor record.
Behaviour
How you act. The layer everyone tries to change first, and the one that shifts most easily once the other two stop fighting.
The arc of the work
Eight things a session is trying to do
Ola's own map of the process. The first four happen inside the hour. The second four are what the hour makes possible afterwards.
Identify critical situations
Downregulate nervous and emotional activation
Restore resilience capacity
Enable new perspectives and adaptive response
Re-open access to creativity
Activate resourcefulness
Reignite motivation and direction
Expand perspective and action horizon
Inside the hour
What a session is actually like
Roughly twenty per cent conversation, eighty per cent process.
We start with what moved
What has changed since last time, what got acknowledged, what tightened. New tensions, beliefs or events from the week become the target.
You close your eyes
Your thoughts, feelings and body sensations are the compass. Not Ola's interpretation of them — yours. There is nothing to perform and nothing to get right.
Short sequences, with touch-downs
The process runs in bursts of about a minute to ninety seconds, with a brief check in between. How are you. What is there now.
The system drops
Usually by the second or third sequence. Muscles soften, breathing deepens, the voice goes lower. People stop answering socially and start answering from inside the experience.
It moves, and it is not linear
Emotional tones shift as layers reorganise — fear can turn into anger on the way through. A temporary intensification is movement, not a problem. As long as something is moving, the system is reprocessing.
Closure is something you verify
We return to the situation you came in with. If you can look straight at it without activation, breathing easy, seeing more than one option — that is closure. A final sequence anchors it.
Why it is fast
Because it is not being applied to you. It is already in you.
Reset activates a regulation capacity that is already written into human physiology. It is not an external protocol pressed onto the body. It is a direct, non-invasive activation of something the system already knows how to do and has stopped doing under sustained load.
That is the whole reason a first session can produce a shift where months of analysis did not. You are not learning a new capability. You are being reminded of one.
The four stages
Where most people are, and where this goes
Almost everyone who contacts Ola is at stage two, and has been for years.
Being straight with you
What Reset is not, and who it is not for
This matters more than the sales page usually admits, so it is on the method page rather than buried in an FAQ.
- Reset is not psychotherapy. There is no diagnosis and no psychoanalysis.
- It is not designed for mental-illness contexts, and it is not appropriate for people in psychological or psychiatric distress. That work belongs with a clinician.
- It is not for people unwilling to question themselves, or without a goal.
- It is not for anyone who wants to talk indefinitely without engaging the process itself.
- Sometimes a person is too deep in burnout to get the full benefit. Ola will say so rather than take the booking.
Before you book
Questions people ask before they book
How fast will I feel something?
Many people notice a shift during or shortly after the first session — usually a mental settling, a grounding, or simply less intensity on something that was loud an hour ago.
Depth and rhythm vary by person. What does not vary is the order of operations: regulation first. Once the nervous system settles, change tends to feel accessible rather than effortful.
Do I have to talk about my past?
Not unless you want to. Revisiting or analysing your history is not required for the process to work. You are welcome to bring whatever feels relevant, including past experience, without any obligation or expectation that you do.
What if my situation is complicated?
Complex situations are the norm, not the exception. Reset does not try to reduce your life to a single issue. It reduces the emotional and nervous load that makes complexity feel unmanageable. As regulation improves, perspective widens — even when the situation itself stays complicated.
How is success measured?
By the number of critical situations that stop being emotionally critical. That is observable inside the session itself: the charge attached to the target situation reduces or goes. In Ola's experience, nine to ten sessions out of ten are successful in that specific sense.
Is there homework?
No. The only invitation is not to analyse the session afterwards, and to let it integrate over the following two or three days.
Can I do this online?
Yes, and most clients do. Sessions run online across Europe and roughly four time zones either side. In-person sessions are available in Geneva.
